Electronic Absence Submission

If your child will not be in school for the day due to illness or doctor/dentist appointment, you may drop off a paper note to the office or submit an electronic absence note through PowerSchool. To submit your note online, please visit the link below and follow the step-by-step instructions.

STUDENT DEVICE ISSUES
Students attending in-person classes having issues with their District issued Chromebook or iPad should see their teacher. Depending on the issue the teacher may resolve the issue, submit a technology help desk ticket on the student's behalf, or direct students to the office (K-5)/school library (6-12) for additional assistance.

ExCEL Virtual Learning Academy (Powered by CAOLA) students needing technical assistance with a District issued device or account should submit request for assistance via our student device issues form, click here.

In support of our ongoing commitment to the well-being of our students and families, we have partnered with Care Solace to provide an additional layer of care for our community. Care Solace assists individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers. Their services may be accessed at no cost to you, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, and in 200+ languages.
 
To utilize Care Solace, call 1-888-515-0595. A Care Solace team member will help you every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure it is a good fit. For anonymous help, answer a few questions to get matched with an extensive list of care providers at www.caresolace.com/westshore.

Medicaid Benefits
Renewing Your Medicaid Benefits
We realize many of our families utilize Medicaid and wanted to pass on some information about renewing your benefits (something that must be done each year).

The West Shore School District has partnered with Highmark Wholecare to offer free help sessions who may be applying for or renewing Medicaid Coverage. These sessions will take place at 10AM to Noon, with no appointment necessary, as follows:

  • Cedar Cliff High School - First Wednesday of the Month
  • Red Land High School - Second Wednesday of the Month
