The Academic Bowl, sponsored by the West Shore Foundation, is designed for students throughout the District in grades four through eight to showcase their general knowledge across a vast spectrum of topics. The competitions consist of double elimination academic contests that stress immediate individual and team recall of factual information in the areas of art, entertainment, geography, grammar & usage, history, literature, mathematics, music, science, sports, television, theater, and world events.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year
Kindergarten registration has begun in the West Shore School District for the 2019-2020 school year! We have some exciting new changes in store for the Class of 203

3D Preview of the New Rossmoyne Elementary
The District is very pleased to share a completed 3D rendering of the new Rossmoyne Elementary School. We are thrilled to see the conversations and feedback collected from administrators, students, parents, teachers, and the community come to life in this video. As you watch, we hope you will share in our pride and excitement. Our goal (pending final permits and a smooth construction process) is to open the building for the 2020-2021 school year!
Course Selection Information for 2019-2020
The 2019-2020 Course Selection Manual is posted online to assist high school and eighth grade students, and their parents, in choosing rigorous academic courses aligned with a selected career field, program, and pathway. The intentional focus on the PACER (Personalized Academic & Career Education Roadmap) is the student’s post-secondary education, military options, and/or employment opportunities for life after high school.
What is the Future Ready PA Index?
The accountability system for Pennsylvania public schools looks a little different this year. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has replaced School Performance Profiles (SPP) with the Future Ready PA Index. The Future Ready PA Index, which is meant to be a more holistic approach to measuring school performance, includes the measures of academic proficiency and growth, along with some new measures such as career readiness and chronic absenteeism.
