Free Grab-and-Go Bagged Meals

Free Grab-and-Go Bagged Meals

The West Shore School District will offer Free Grab-and-Go Bagged Meals for all children from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, at four designated locations. Lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day will be included in each bag. Similar to the summer meal program, all children 18 and younger are welcome to participate. Celebrating Youth Art Month

Each year, the District participates in Youth Art Month, a nationally recognized celebration of the contributions of young people to the arts.  The theme for the 2019-2020 school year is “Take a Journey through Art” and the District has embraced that theme by working in conjunction with Lamar Advertising and the District’s Partners in Education, to display 18 billboards showcasing student art throughout West Shore and our neighboring communities.   More +

Looking Ahead: 2020-2021 School Calendar

We received more than 560 responses to our calendar survey this year. After careful review of the comments, concerns, and questions received, one change to the proposed calendar was made; November 30, will be a non-school day, and in exchange, April 1, will be a student day. Board Adopts Resolution Calling for Reform of Cyber Charter School Funding

The District’s charter school expenditures since 2009-2010 reflect extraordinary costs that were borne by its taxpayers. At its meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2020, the Board adopted the following resolution calling for charter school funding reform.  More +

RESULTS: 2020 Academic Bowl Competition sponsored by the West Shore Foundation

The Academic Bowl, sponsored by the West Shore Foundation, is designed for students throughout the District in grades four through eight to showcase their general knowledge across a vast spectrum of topics. The competitions consist of double elimination academic contests that stress immediate individual and team recall of factual information in the areas of art, entertainment, geography, grammar & usage, history, literature, mathematics, music, science, sports, television, theater, and world events.  The Academic Bowl will begin on January 21, 2020 with eighth grade.
