Message from the Superintendent: Social Media Challenges and Procedural Changes for Home Football Games

Our District, like many across the country, was impacted by last month's TikTok challenge that encouraged students to steal school items and supplies. On October 14, Dr. Stoltz emailed families to ask for their help in deterring participation in future social media challenges. His message also outlined procedural changes for home football games which will begin Friday, October 15, as a result of inappropriate behavior by students at the West Shore Stadium.

Seeking Business Volunteers for our Middle School Career Awareness Fair - December 9th

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, the West Shore School District will hold its annual Middle School Career Awareness Fair for eighth grade students. As students start to think about high school and their future after graduation, it is important for them to be exposed to different career possibilities. The fair provides students the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers and speak to individuals working in them.  We are currently looking for volunteers to speak at the Career Fair.

Special Education Department Parent Information Session - October 19th

All West Shore families are welcome to join members of the Special Education Department for this parent information session. During the evening, staff will provide an overview of the programs offered in our District and will answer parent questions related to special education services.

2021-2022 Budget Approved

On June 17, 2021, the Board approved a final budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.  The approved budget includes $135,376,178.57 in expenditures and $133,530,472.13 in revenues. The millage rate for Cumberland County for 2021-2022 is 12.7512, and the rate for York County is 15.3858.
