Act 34 Hearings Held for New Intermediate Schools
On May 9, 2022, public hearings for construction of the District's two new Intermediate Schools were held at the Administration Center. The following presentations were made during the hearings.
In addition to the hearing, with the help of the architects and its financial advisors, the District is sharing the attached Act 34 Booklets with the public.
Feasibility Update - August 2021
The District continues to develop and refine designs for two new Intermediate Schools. Those buildings are to be constructed on the site of the existing Fairview Elementary and a property owned by the District at the intersection of Valley & Beinhower Roads.
Throughout this process, the District has remained committed to developing budgets that consider the impact on taxpayers and otherwise protect the District’s long-term financial stability. So, in light of the increased costs of construction, the delays in material production, and general instability caused by the pandemic, the District has delayed the start of these two projects. And, following a revised timeline, plans to open the new Intermediate Schools for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
Our updated timeline would allow for the release of bid documents in the late winter or early spring of 2022, and continued work through the various approval processes with the Department of Environmental Protection, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and governing townships.
