Community Partnerships

Partners in Education
The Partners in Education program provides an opportunity for members of the business community to establish partnerships with one or more schools within the District. Business leaders become involved in numerous school initiatives, sharing their expertise with students and modeling for students the characteristics which are necessary to be successful in the business world.
Currently, almost 200 businesses are actively involved in the Partners in Education program. These partnerships take many forms and are tailored to the specific needs, interests, and talents of those individuals involved. No two partnerships are alike, but each has as its goal to enhance students' educational experiences.

New partners are always welcome. Interested in getting more involved? Talk to your local school or contact Rhonda Fourhman, Coordinator of Community Relations, at 717-938-9577 or email

Thank You to our 2017-2018 Partners!

The District extends its sincere appreciation to each of its Partners in Education for their help in preparing today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders.

OSS logo
The District is proud to partner with OSS Health This collaboration benefits our schools and community by enabling the District to enhance the quality of education it offers.
JA logo Looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Eager to share some of your business experiences with children? West Shore School District is looking for a few good mentors to reinforce the connection between school and the world of work.

West Shore is in need of business and community volunteers to present Junior Achievement (JA) lessons to students in grades K-6. The purpose of Junior Achievement is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives. At each grade level, volunteers present a series of five business-related lessons, with all teaching materials and lesson guides provided by JA. Each lesson is approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

Please consider volunteering your time to this worthy endeavor. It's never too early to begin career awareness, and you may be the person to spark a child to say, "I know what I want to be when I grow up.

To find out more about Junior Achievement, please contact Mrs. Jennifer Mummert, counselor, at or visit Junior Achievement's website at
