Comprehensive Planning

The Comprehensive Strategic Plan contains the District’s mission and vision statements and details the District’s shared values as we work to provide a quality education for our students in a fiscally responsible fashion.

2016-2019 Comprehensive Plan
The 2016-2019 Comprehensive Plan was developed through the work of a committee whose members represent school staff, parents, community members, and business representatives.  The Comprehensive Planning Committee had four subcommittees.

  • Professional Education
  • Safe and Supportive Schools
  • Special Education
  • Student Achievement

The 2016-2019 Comprehensive Planning Committee meeting was held on February 2, 2015.  After a brief overview of the process, committee members broke into subcommittees to begin the process of completing a needs assessment which will be used to identify goals for success that will lead to the development action plans.  The remaining work was done by members of the subcommittees working throughout the year.

Based on the state’s Comprehensive Planning process, the proposed 2016-2019 Comprehensive Plan was shared with the Board and the community on October 8, 2015.   The proposed plan was presented for a vote and approved by the Board on November 19, 2015.

2020-2023 Comprehensive Plan
The District is now working on revising the Comprehensive Plan for 2020-2023 in compliance with the state's ongoing updates to the planning process.  The 2020-2023 Comprehensive Plan is being developed through the work of commitee members representing school staff, parents, community members, and business representatives.  This committee met on February 7, 2019.  The planning process is using three subcommittees:

  • Professional Education
  • Safe and Supportive Schools
  • Special Education

On March 14, 2019, the proposed plans (Comprehensive and Special Education) were shared publically with the community at the Board's Public Study Session.  They are also found as files on this page (see below).  On April 16, 2019, both plans were approved by the Board for submission to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
