Psychiatric evaluations are obtained through the Office of Special Education on a case by case basis. A request for a psychiatric evaluation may be initiated as a result of:
- IEP
team consensus
- Recommendation
from the School Psychologist
- A
Multidisciplinary Evaluation indicates a need for a psychiatric evaluation
The school psychologist will notify the Director of Special Education
When the Permission is
signed, the psychologist will coordinate with the psychiatrist, parent, and
appropriate IEP team members.
The IEP team will
reconvene when the report has been completed in accordance to the procedures
for considering private evaluations.
