General Info -- Patriot Pride Student Newspaper

The Patriot Pride student-produced newspaper has been a creative outlet for Red Land student journalists and photographers for 50 years. The newspaper has gone through MANY iterations over the decades (it was once called Re La Vista, for example).  The students who work on the newspaper are students who take the Journalism I and Journalism II electives via the English Department. We attempt to produce between 3 to 5 issues a year, but the main goal is quality over quantity.  Production of a physical newspaper definitely depends on the number of students taking the courses and our ability to meet deadlines. We want the students who learn journalism to have a physical component to show-off their efforts and hard work; a "product" that can be shared with the masses.  Please support Red Land's student writers, journalists, and photographers! Want to advertise with us?

The newspaper relies on money from advertisers from time to time to assist with covering our printing costs (which seem to always be on the rise).  If you have a local business or service you think would especially appeal to teens and Red Land's teachers and staff, PLEASE advertise with us! We offer cheap advertising options and our direct audience is the students and staff of Red Land HS. Contact Mr. Jared Washburn (the faculty advisor and journalism teacher) and he will email you with various advertising options from which to choose.

Archive of older issues

We've started to create digital archives of older issues dating back to the Re La Vista days in 1970!  Please check out our Issuu page to take a walk down Red Land's memory lane...
