Absence Form

A Reminder for Student Absences

In instances of absence, the parent or guardian is to notify the school on the day of the child’s absence.  This phone call does not take the place of a written excuse.

Upon returning to school, the student is to submit a note signed by the parent or guardian giving the date of the absence and the reason for the absence.  Students are responsible for submitting their notes.   If an excuse is not furnished within three (3) days after the absence, the absence will be recorded as an illegal absence. After a student has been illegally absent for a total of three (3) days during the school year, an official notice will be mailed to the parents.  Future illegal absences are then subject to parental citation.

The absence policy is written in the Student / Parent Handbook, in the District Calendar, and on the District web site under Policy.
