May Celebrations
Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, an opportunity celebrate the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. We encourage our school community to join us in celebrating AAPI and our diversity!

West Shore Special Education Department Field Day
Thursday, May 5, West Shore Stadium
Special Olympics were cancelled for 2022; however, the District will once again hold a Special Education Department Field Day this year. The date for that event is May 5, and we look forward to cheering for our athletes alongside their families at the event.

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies. Again, this year, the West Shore Foundation is a beneficiary and will receive 100% of your support. If interested in joining us or making a donation, please click here for more details.

Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2022
Saturday, June 4, Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex
Cedar Cliff High School - 10 a.m.
Red Land High School - 1:30 p.m.
Parking is free and all are welcome to join us. We will also broadcast both ceremonies live. Details about the live stream, including links and system requirements, will be available on our website closer to graduation.

Annual Retiree and Employee Recognition Dinner
Tuesday, June 14, 5:15-7:45 p.m., Cedar Cliff High School Cafeteria
Formal invitations will be sent in May to our retirees and honored guests. 
Summer Offerings
Summer School Applications Now Being Accepted
We are offering summer remediation and acceleration courses at NO COST to students or their families this summer. Courses will run from June 2-July 28, 2022 and are being offered entirely online. Interested students must complete all requested information on the online application to register. Click here for more details about this year's offerings.

Summer Music Programs
West Shore's music department is offering two options for continued music study for strings and instrumental band students over the summer break. Both programs are available to instrumentalists playing violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion. Act 34 Hearings for New Intermediate Schools
Monday, May 9, starting at 5 p.m.
Public hearings for construction of the District's two new Intermediate Schools will be held at the Administration Center for Education on Monday, May 9, 2022.  The hearing for the school at 480 Lewisberry Road will begin at 5 p.m. with the hearing for the school at Valley & Beinhower Roads to follow at 6 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend and will have the opportunity to offer comments and ask questions. In addition to the hearing, with the help of the architects and its financial advisors, the District is sharing Act 34 Booklets with the public for review.  Click here for more information.
