April Celebrations
Celebrating Diversity Month
It is important to remember that diversity is more than race. It includes ethnic, socioeconomic, religious, and cultural backgrounds and various lifestyles, experiences, abilities, and interests. We encourage our school community to join us in celebrating our differences.

Autism Acceptance Month
This month supports social acceptance of Autism and raising awareness of the need for appropriate supports to enable our friends with autism to lead full and meaningful lives.

Important Dates for Students and Staff
Report Card Information Available in PowerSchool
Monday, April 11
Report card information for grades 1-12 will be available online April 11, in PowerSchool. To view and print grades in the traditional report card style, please click the "Report Cards" tab on the left after logging into the PowerSchool website (not available in the app). Parents, if you need to set up a PowerSchool account or would like to request a printed version of your child’s report card, please contact your child's building secretary.

No School
Friday, April 15 and Monday, April 18
We do not need to use April 18, as a make-up since we have been utilizing weather-related remote learning days. Students will not have school.

Anti-Racism and Diversity Art Gallery
Wednesday, April 6, 6 p.m., Cedar Cliff High School Lobby
Members of Cedar Cliff’s Colts Anti-Racist Alliance (C.A.R.A.) organization are organizing this event to showcase and amplify diverse student voices through art, poetry, and photography. All are welcome to attend and participate in the silent auction. 

Disney Aladdin Jr. presented by Allen Middle School
Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Allen Middle School 
Auditorium
Tickets may be purchased at the door for $7. Free for children under 5 and Senior Citizens. General Admission Seating.

Special Education Department Parent Information Session
Thursday, April 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Administration Center, Childcare will be Available

The District's Special Education Department is hosting its third Parent Information Session this school year. During the evening, members of several local agencies, including The Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties, the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), and Easterseals, will provide an overview of the supports and services they offer. Additionally, members of West Shore's Department of Student Services will be available to answer parent questions related to special education and will provide an overview of our Extended School Year (ESY) program. All West Shore families are invited to attend; however, to assist in our planning for the evening, please RSVP by Friday, April 22, if you intend to join us. 

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Crossroads Middle School
The District is partnering with the York Opioid Collaborative and Fairview Township Police Department to host this drive thru event. All varieties of medication (tablets, capsules, liquids, creams, inhalants, etc.) will be accepted for disposal.

West Shore Special Education Department Field Day
Thursday, May 5, West Shore Stadium
Special Olympics were cancelled for 2022; however, the District will once again hold a Special Education Department Field Day this year. The date for that event is May 5, and we look forward to cheering for our athletes alongside their families at the event.

High School Proms
Red Land High School - Saturday, May 7, 6-10 p.m., Red Lion Hotel, Harrisburg
Cedar Cliff High School - Saturday, May 14, 6:30-10:30 p.m., Penn Harris Hotel, Camp Hill
Thanks to an incredible outpouring of generosity from our community, each high school has free gowns and some formal attire available for students. Please contact your child's school for details about their prom boutiques. 

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
Saturday, May 21, Harrisburg Area Community College

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies. Again, this year, the West Shore Foundation is a beneficiary and will receive 100% of your support. If interested in joining us or making a donation, please click here for more details.

Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2022
Saturday, June 4, Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex
Cedar Cliff High School - 10 a.m.
Red Land High School - 1:30 p.m.
Parking is free and all are welcome to join us. We will also broadcast both ceremonies live. Details about the live stream, including links and system requirements, will be available on our website closer to graduation.

  • Kindergarten Registration - We are currently accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2022-2023 school year. If you have a child who will be five years old before October 1, please check our registration page for directions on how to complete their enrollment process online.
