My name is Travis Peck and I have the honor to serve as the principal of Newberry Elementary School. I have served in Newberry’s principal role since 2018. Prior to coming to Newberry, I served in a variety of educational positions in the Harrisburg City School District. My previous assignments include serving as elementary school principal, assistant elementary principal, acting high school principal, assistant high school principal, online administrator, and an alternative education transition coordinator. I have earned a Bachelor Degree, two Master Degrees, and a Doctorate Degree.

There are many great things happening at Newberry Elementary School and throughout the West Shore School District. I encourage you to browse our school and district webpage. The websites are a great resource to find the school calendar, virtual school days, no school days, and many planned school events.

Morning drop-off procedures start at 8:35 a.m. – All doors will be locked and no supervision will be provided prior to 8:35 a.m. Parent drop-off occurs in the back of the school just before the back entrance to the cafeteria at door number 8. Students should be able to exit the vehicle independently to keep the line of traffic flowing. To ensure all students’ safety, we request vehicles to remain in a single file line during this process.

Afternoon pick-up procedures start at 3:30 p.m. – As in the past, we ask you to write a note if you wish to pick up your child at the end of the school day. If you plan to pick up your child on designated days or for the entire year, indicate such on the blue Daily Dismissal Form, and your child will be on a permanent pick-up list. All pick-up students will be released from the front lobby, door number 13.

Start Time – students must be in their classrooms by 8:50 a.m. Students should not be dropped off prior to 8:35 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten begins at 12:50 p.m. Dismissal is 3:35 p.m. but we ask parents to arrive by 3:30 p.m. If you plan to pick up your child on a specific day, please send a note to your classroom teacher.

School Meals - All students are able to receive free Breakfast and Lunch daily. The cafeteria breakfast and lunch menus are located on West Shore School District’s website under the Food Services tab.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at 717-938-2111 or visit the main office. I look forward to another great school year collaborating with the students, staff, parents and community members while focusing our attention on our future leaders; the students.
