Looking Ahead - 2019-2020 School Calendar

THANK YOU to all who submitted feedback on the 2019-2020 proposed school calendar. After careful review of the comments, concerns, and questions received, on February 21, 2019, the Board of School Directors adopted a calendar for next school year.

Join Our Team - West Shore Career Fair - March 7th

The West Shore School District will hold a Career Fair on Thursday, March 7 from 4-7 p.m. at the Administration Building located at 507 Fishing Creek Road in Lewisberry, PA. 
Come and meet with District administration and representatives from Aramark and First Student. We have a variety of full and part time positions available for next school year and some positions are available now!

Congratulations to our 2019 Future Chefs Culinary Competition Finalists!

Once again, Sodexo has sponsored a culinary competition for students in grades 1-5.  This year's theme...Fiesta Fit - Healthy Mexican Recipes!  Sodexo received over 40 entries and it gives us great pleasure to announce the finalists who will compete at Allen Middle School on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The winner of that event will be entered into a national competition for some great prizes! More +

Mark Your Calendar - District Make-Up Days

As a result of the November 15, 2018, January 31, 2019, and February 11, 2019, weather related school closings, school will be in session on the following dates:

• Friday, February 15, 2019
• Monday, March 18, 2019
• Thursday, April 18, 2019

A decision has not yet been made regarding the February 12 and February 20, snow days and whether days will be added to the end of the school year to make up the closings. Please note, regardless of whether or not the school year is extended, the graduation date will not change. Thank you for your patience.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year

Kindergarten registration has begun in the West Shore School District for the 2019-2020 school year!  We have some exciting new changes in store for the Class of 2032 including online registration and orientation at the elementary schools. More +

2019 Academic Bowl Competition sponsored by the West Shore Foundation

UPDATED WITH RESULTS: The Academic Bowl, sponsored by the West Shore Foundation, is designed for students throughout the District in grades four through eight to showcase their general knowledge across a vast spectrum of topics. The competitions consist of double elimination academic contests that stress immediate individual and team recall of factual information in the areas of art, entertainment, geography, grammar & usage, history, literature, mathematics, music, science, sports, television, theater, and world events.   More +

Preliminary 2019-2020 Budget

During the December Study Session, West Shore administration presented an introduction to the 2019-2020 Preliminary General Fund Budget. A copy of this presentation and budget timeline information can be viewed on the Business Office Department page.

3D Preview of the New Rossmoyne Elementary

The District is very pleased to share a completed 3D rendering of the new Rossmoyne Elementary School. We are thrilled to see the conversations and feedback collected from administrators, students, parents, teachers, and the community come to life in this video.  As you watch, we hope you will share in our pride and excitement. What is the Future Ready PA Index?

The accountability system for Pennsylvania public schools looks a little different this year. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has replaced School Performance Profiles (SPP) with the Future Ready PA Index. The Future Ready PA Index, which is meant to be a more holistic approach to measuring school performance, includes the measures of academic proficiency and growth, along with some new measures such as career readiness and chronic absenteeism. Click here for more information and quick links to West Shore's school profiles.
