Real Estate Tax
- If your taxes are escrowed you must send your bills to your mortgage company.
- Failure to receive a tax notice is not an excuse for non-payment.
- A self-addressed stamped envelope is required for returned tax receipts.
- Non sufficient fund checks will be returned and a fee may be assessed.
- All personal checks must be physically received by the tax collector's office before December 15, 2020 to be accepted. After December 15th, certified checks, cashier checks, money orders, and cash are the ONLY forms of payment accepted.
Installment Payment Option Available
As a result of The Taxpayer Relief Act (Act 1), West Shore School District property owners will have the option to pay their real estate taxes in three equal installments of the full face amount. The real estate tax notice has been redesigned to accommodate tax installment payments. The bottom three coupons of the tax bill are for taxpayers who want to utilize the installment payment option. The top coupon is to be used for full payments only.
If a taxpayer elects to make installment payments, the first payment must be received by the tax collector before August 31. If the first installment payment is not made by August 31, the taxes must be paid in full as outlined on the tax bill. If a taxpayer is delinquent on either the second or third installment payment, they must pay the penalty amount on that installment.
Real Estate Tax Address Changes
If the address on the real estate tax bill is incorrect, please contact your county assessment office. If you are not certain which county in which you live, please contact the District tax office at 717-938-9577 or your tax collector for assistance.
