Career Planning
After providing a brief update on the recent Middle School Career Fair, which included more than 70 business and industry partners, Dr. Stoltz facilitated an activity to learn more about the Committee’s perceptions of what a diploma and more specifically, a West Shore diploma should mean. This feedback will be important in ensuring we are meeting the community’s desires, as well as identifying where we may need to focus our energy moving forward.
School Dances
In light of changes made to address some concerning conduct at school dances, there was some discussion to clarify the District’s position on what is appropriate decorum. Specifically, the District communicated a message that “grinding” will not be tolerated at future dances. Despite students feeling as though dances were going to be cancelled, the District has no intention of discontinuing dances, which are typically well-attended and safe activities for our students.
