PTO Activities
Dr. Stoltz facilitated discussion and provided some guidance and direction to PTOs and other school-based groups on school-related activities. Specifically, on previous occasions, questions regarding participation and accessibility to PTO events were raised. Because PTO activities are a function of the school, they must adhere to inclusive practices, just like schools do. Ideally, events provide all students and families with the opportunity to participate without feeling as if they are being excluded.
Student Walkouts
Dr. Stoltz provided the group with a brief update on the National Walkout scheduled. A relatively small amount of students chose to participate in a safe manner within their respective buildings.
There was also discussion about school safety in general, and the steps the District takes to keep everyone safe.
