Welcome to Fairview Elementary School

message to community graphic

A Message to Our Community from Dr. Todd Stoltz, Superintendent

Good afternoon West Shore Students, Staff, Parents, and Community,

First and foremost, our hearts, prayers, and condolences are with the grieving families in Parkland, Florida today.

Yesterday's incident is another unfortunate reminder of our need to be vigilant in our awareness of our surroundings and our preparation in response to critical incidents, including attacks that threaten our safety. Today, I want to assure you that the safety of our school community is our top priority and that our schools have comprehensive crisis plans in place to guide us through a variety of emergency situations should the need arise.

District-wide Showings of Resilience

Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope is a one-hour documentary that chronicles the birth of a new movement among pediatricians, therapists, educators and communities, who are using cutting-edge brain science to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction and disease. The West Shore School District, in conjunction with the West Shore Education Association (WSEA), is proud to present this documentary and information about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to our school community.

2018-2019 School Calendar

Nearly 300 individuals participated in the calendar development process this year! We are thankful so many of you took the time to share your thoughts and valuable input with us.

Unlike the development of the 2017-2018 school calendar, when the feedback received could not be incorporated into a single calendar and two options were given to the community for a vote; this year, after careful review of the comments, concerns, and questions received, the District was able to accommodate changes into a single proposed calendar which was adopted by the Board of School Directors during the February 15th Board Meeting.
