Board Meeting - October 8

The Board met in regular session on Thursday, October 8, with President Crocenzi presiding.

Recognition by the Board
Mrs. Crocenzi gave a shout out to teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and students who are preparing for the next phase of the District's reopening plan.

Finance Updates
Mrs. Stuck provided the Board with reports on the 2021-2022 Budget Timeline, 2020-2021 Investment Update, Assessed Value Spreadsheet, Budget Status Reports, Capital Reserves Summary, and Rossmoyne Project.

Athletic Health and Safety Plan - Spectators at Athletic Events 
Dr. Stoltz shared revisions to the Spectator Guidelines for Fall Sports. Based upon guidance received from the Governor’s Office and Pennsylvania Department of Health, the District has revised its procedures for players and spectators during the 2020 fall sport season.

A public comment received electronically from a parent related to the Phased School Reopening Plan and student safety was read to the Board.

Board Meeting - October 15

The Board met in regular session on Thursday, October 15, with President Crocenzi presiding.

A recording of the National Anthem performed by Cedar Cliff High School’s Barbershop Quartet was played to start the meeting. The quartet included Senior AJ Frownfelter and Junior Jonah Petruschke, with 2019 Graduate Emanuel Rios and Choral Director Mr. Matthew Topping.

Minutes
The minutes of the meetings held September 10 and 17, 2020, were approved.

Treasurer’s Report
The Board approved the Treasurer’s Report for the month ending September 30, 2020, showing invested and available funds of $62,771,129.80.

Communications
Dr. Stoltz distributed a copy of the latest legal update from the solicitor’s office. 

Dr. Argot shared the Central Treasury Report for Red Land High School.

Board Reports & Shout Outs
Mr. Kambic highlighted discussions from the District Advisory Council meeting, Mrs. Tierney shared details about this year’s virtual West Shore Foundation Gala, and Mr. Stoltenburg provided an update from the Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School Joint Operating Committee (JOC).

Mrs. Crocenzi provided an overview of the information shared at the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) Conference including her takeaways from a diversity workshop in which she participated. Dr. Whye and Dr. Leese shared that the District's Diversity Committee will be working with Dr. Heather Bennett, Director of Equity Services at PSBA, in November.

Dr. Stoltz praised the work done to successfully transition schedules and staff from Distance Learning 2.0 to a combination of in person and remote learning. He praised the efforts of administrators, teachers, support staff, and bus drivers to make the first week back a positive experience for students and their families.

Mr. Kambic and Mrs. Moyer added how wonderful it was to see the school zone flashing lights signaling the return of students and some normalcy.

Mrs. Tierney gave a shout out to District families and shared her appreciation for their patience, care, and support as the District transitioned to Phase 2.

Bills for Approval
The Board approved bills for the period September 17, 2020, through October 7, 2020, listing checks which totaled $3,347,145.90.

The Board approved all personnel items as presented.

Capital BlueCross Benefit Plan Renewal
The Board approved the Capital BlueCross Fee Summary and Premium Equivalents for 2021.

United Concordia Dental Insurance Agreement for Administrative and Claims Payment Services
The Board approved an agreement for Administrative and Claims Payment Services with United Concordia (UCCI) beginning January 1, 2021.

Teladoc Health Services Agreement
Teladoc Health provides telehealth services offered under the Teladoc and HealthiestYou brands. The Board approved the presented agreement with Teladoc Health Services.

RightRx Program
RightRx, offered by US RxCare, moves members from a more expensive specialty or brand to a less expensive brand or generic medication when appropriate and approved by the subscribing physician. The Board approved an agreement with RightRx beginning January 1, 2021.
