Starting on Monday, March 30, we will begin distance learning for Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. Our goal is to provide students and families with learning opportunities they can do at home. These activities are not meant to replace daily classroom instruction, and while we are encouraging all students to do their best to complete the assigned material, it will not be graded.
ELEMENTARY (K-5) - 2.5 hours per day
Elementary students will complete lessons each day from home. Students will have low-tech, paper-and-pencil options, and they do not need to have a computer to complete assignments.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL (6-12) - 2.5 hours per day
Middle and High School teachers will post lessons online each day, which students will check, complete, and submit. Middle School students will also have low-tech, paper-and-pencil options, so they do not have to have a computer to complete assignments.
SPECIAL EDUCATION (K-12)
We understand that there may be unique challenges for students with disabilities and that this may be a stressful time for our families. Throughout the closure, your child’s special education team will work to provide access to the distance learning framework while supporting IEP goals and objectives. For support, please reach out to your child’s teacher, therapist, or Dr. Ryan-Washington at [email protected]
CUMBERLAND PERRY AREA VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL (CPAVTS)
CAOLA students are expected to continue with their coursework.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will have lessons that do not need a computer to complete. For families who are interested, no cost and low cost internet access options are available on our Parent Portal, click here
. These options are provided for reference only. We are not requiring families to obtain internet access.
We do not have plans to distribute devices to students in grades K-8 at this time. Additionally, we are not able to repair high school Chromebooks at this time. If you need assistance with a District issued Chromebook or application on the device, please complete our Student Assistance Form.
