What the Numbers Mean

Active Cases - Any confirmed or presumed positive case of COVID-19 when the individual was physically present in the school setting during their infectious period (including but not limited to instruction, work, sports, or extracurricular activities) within the last 14 days or since the last school closure.

Total Cases Any confirmed or presumed positive case of COVID-19 with symptom onset during the last 14 days, whether the individual was in the school setting or not. Active cases are included in the total case count.

Quarantine/Isolation - Quarantine/isolation numbers include students in isolation (positive/presumed positive), travel quarantines, and close contacts. If in green, this number includes an entire grade or classroom which has been quarantined as a precautionary measure.

Student Enrollment - Per PDE's recommendations, building size is based on the number of students who would be attending school in the building if not for the pandemic. As such, the enrollment number includes our students who are in person, in Distance Learning 2.0, and in CAOLA.

Closure Recommendations - To learn more about the state's recommendations for Pre-K to 12 schools following identification of a case(s) of COVID-19 and criteria being used to determine when a school closure is necessary, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Education's website

*Highland and Rossmoyne Elementary Schools do not have in-person learners on Fridays and are able to reset their building's active cases following scheduled weekend closures. Additionally, since Red Land High School and Allen Middle School did not have in-person activities (athletic practices, extra-curricular activities, etc.) on May 8 or May 9, both schools were able to reset their active cases over the weekend.
