Confirmed COVID-19 Case at Fishing Creek Elementary – December 2, 2020

December 2, 2020

Good afternoon Fishing Creek families,

Today we learned a member of the Fishing Creek Elementary school community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in school yesterday, December 1, 2020.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have chosen to quarantine all students in the classroom impacted. Members of the class were notified by phone earlier today and may also be contacted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH).

For your reference, the District has established a COVID-19 Tracker to share data on active cases, quarantine numbers, and total cases impacting our District. The tracker may be viewed at: https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/COVID19Tracker.aspx

What happens now:
  • Unless in quarantine or isolation, students and staff should continue to report to school on their assigned days.
  • The individual who tested positive and students in the impacted class will work remotely and not return to the building for at least 14 days. The District website provides additional information and guidance for families with a child in quarantine: https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/QuarantineFAQ.aspx
  • Classrooms and affected areas will undergo any additional required sanitation and cleaning in accordance with CDC, PDE, and PA DOH guidance.

What you can do:

I greatly appreciate your flexibility, patience, and support as we navigate COVID-19. Please don’t hesitate to email me directly or call the school if you have questions or concerns regarding this information.

Sincerely,

Lisa Crum, Principal
Fishing Creek Elementary School
