Welcome to my fifth grade class for the 2018-2019 school year!! My name is Ms. MacDonald, but everyone calls me Ms. Mac. I am super excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year!! This is the start of my 18th year teaching 5th grade at Hillside! I will teach 2 sections of math, 2 sections of science, and 1 section of writing and word study this year.
I did both my undergraduate and graduate work at Penn State, so I am a die-hard fan. I love watching Penn State dominate on the football field, as well as on the wrestling mat. I love, love, love all kinds of music and go to concerts as often as I can. This summer I saw Maroon 5 and in September I will see Ed Sheeran. My happy place is on any beach, anywhere. I also enjoy container gardening and spending what little spare time I have hanging out with my sister and friends, reading, or working around my house.
I have a son named Jordan who passed away in 2012 at age 22. I miss him every single second. I started a wrestling scholarship in his honor at Cedar Cliff High School that is given out every year. I love watching the recipients wrestle every chance I get.
In my classroom, we are a respectful, supportive, positive family that works hard every day to reach our highest potential. We laugh a lot, we grow a lot, and we HAVE FUN!!
