March Celebrations
Women's History Month
March is Women's History Month, an annual celebration that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. We will be honoring Women's History Month through relevant teaching, learning, and activities in our schools, and we encourage our school community to join us.

Youth Art Month
One of our favorite traditions is our Youth Art Month Billboard Project! As in years past, we have partnered with Lamar Advertising and 18 business sponsors to display billboards showcasing student art throughout West Shore and our neighboring communities. National Read Across America Day
March 2
Established by the National Education Association (NEA), March 2 is National Read Across America Day, a day to celebrate one of our favorite activities...reading.

2022-2023 School Calendar
A calendar for next school year has been approved with a start date of Monday, August 29, for students. Please note, the calendar emailed on February 18 did not outline our use of trimesters for students in K-5 next year. To view the complete calendar, please click here

CDC Masking Change
On February 25, 2022, the CDC Order regarding public transportation was revised. The CDC is no longer requiring the wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems. As a result, masks will not be required by the District.

2022 Academic Bowl Competitions
The Academic Bowl, sponsored by the West Shore Foundation, will conclude on Monday, March 1, at Crossroads Middle School with our fourth grade competitions. Grade level champions can be found shared on our website and social media sites. All this year's teams and coaches have made us #WestShoreProud!

The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition presented by New Cumberland Middle School
March 4 and 5, at 7 p.m. and March 6, at 2 p.m., New Cumberland Middle School Auditorium
Tickets may be purchased at the door for $5. General Admission Seating

Shrek, Jr. presented by Crossroads Middle School
March 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. and March 13, at 2 p.m., Crossroads Middle School Auditorium
Tickets may be purchased at the door. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. General Admission Seating

The Phantom of the Opera presented by Cedar Cliff High School  
March 17, 18, and 19 at 7 p.m. and March 20 at 2 p.m., Cedar Cliff High School Auditorium

Show Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for adults, and $15 for all tickets purchased at the door.
Senior Citizen Matinee - March 16, 4 p.m., No cost for senior citizens. General Admission.
Character Breakfast - March 5, 9-11 a.m., Tickets are $10. Children 12 and under $7.

Drugs 101: What Parents Need to Know
NEW DATE: Thursday, March 31, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Allen Middle School Auditorium
This FREE, two-hour program, presented by Byrnes Health Education and sponsored by the West Shore Foundation, will focus on the signs, symptoms, and current trends relative to the use of tobacco/vaping, alcohol, marijuana, inhalants, heroin, and synthetic drugs by teenagers. Additionally, to assist adults in identifying how teens may hide substance use, a mock bedroom will be set up with drug and alcohol paraphernalia. Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
Saturday, May 21, Harrisburg Area Community College

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies. Again, this year, the West Shore Foundation is a beneficiary and will receive 100% of your support. If interested in joining us or making a donation, please click here for more details.
