Answers to Questions Regarding the RFP

What type of professional are you looking for to service your district?  
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Social Worker and/or Licensed Professional Counselor

Are you currently working with agencies providing school counseling services to your District? If yes, are you able to provide their names and rates?
Yes, we are working with other agencies at this time, but are not including current rates as part of the RFP.

Do current vendors meet all of your School Counseling needs?
Our current vendors work in coordination with District counselors, behavior specialists, and student services personnel to meet student needs.

Do you require that clinician resumes and/or licensure be submitted with the proposal?
The District will gladly consider resumes and licensure with the proposal, but it is not a requirement.

What  hours are in a typical school day (i.e. how many hours are therapists allowed to be on-site and billing)?
School Start and Dismissal Times
Morning Kindergarten:  8:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon Kindergarten:  12:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Grades 1-5: 8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Grades 6-8: 7:38 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Grades 9-12: 7:37 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Do you anticipate awarding to one or multiple vendors??
Optimally, one vendor will be able to meet our needs, but this is not a requirement. If multiple vendors are needed, the number will be determined based on the capacity of the vendor(s) selected and the order in which they were ranked.

Will assigned therapists have access to therapy materials, supplies, equipment, evaluation kits, and protocols provided by your schools?
The District will work with therapists to provide appropriate access to items. Depending on the particular student, some student records may not be available.

Will assigned therapists have access to computers/ laptops and printers provided by your schools?  
Therapists will receive a district issued email account and credentials to access District internet; however, they will not be provided with a computer and will have limited access to printing.

Is the contracting agency able to bill for both direct and indirect treatment time (paperwork, meeting, teacher consultations, etc.)?
They may bill for both, but must provide itemized billing rates based on the specific services provided.

Is travel between schools during the school day needed?
Yes, travel may be needed. Therapist may bill for travel time between schools, but that would not be considered direct hours.

Will the District consider proposals from vendors who only provide teletherapy?
No.

As an awarded vendor, is the agency or the counselor expected to bill Medicaid directly, or will that be facilitated through the school district?
The District utilizes a web-based program to bill approved Medicaid students and will provide access and support to the vendor so they may utilize it for billing.
