Shared Stories: Inclusive Literature Initiative

shared stories
The goal of Shared Stories, the District's Inclusive Literature Initiative, is to provide a diverse collection of books that will support our students in finding titles which they can read and connect with on some level.  It is our hope that the Shared Stories chosen for each grade level will affirm the cultural identities of our students while developing positive insights about others.

Funds from the CARES Act, as well as a generous grant from the West Shore Foundation, have facilitated the purchase of these award winning titles for students. Each month will feature a different theme including Black History, Women’s History, Hispanic Heritage, and others.  In the future, additional themes and titles will be added to the library collections in all K-12 schools.
