We will be randomly grouping students into different classes of society.  We will ask students to dress in a specific color to assist in group management for the day.

The 7th Grade Teachers participating will be dressed in clothing typical of both the Medieval and Renaissance period.  Students are not required to be dressed according to their society class, but if you are an ambitious sewer and want to make a costume for your child there are lists of patterns available with information about difficulty.

Sewing Patterns

Simplicity 1059
This is a great simple Medieval style dress.  Mrs. Campbell will be wearing one quite similar to this.

Simplicity 1137
Another Medieval style dress.  The purple on the cover is much more accurate.

Burda 6888
A men's costume from right in the middle of the Renaissance.  This one takes a little patience, but it's gorgeous!

Simplicity 3519
Various styles of Renaissance shirts for both guys and girls.

Simplicity 3782
A stunning late Renaissance example.  Mrs. Burke-Halpert, Mrs. Van Etten, and Miss Rundall all have a dress like this.  These do require a hoop underneath and can get expensive.

Simplicity 3089
A nice, standard costume that can be made relatively inexpensively.

Simplicity 4059
A great men's costume - Mr. Carter and Mr. Schofield will be wearing this.

Simplicity 4940
Another lovely Medieval Dress - these are actually modeled on the elves in the Lord Of The Rings movie series.

Simplicity 5582
Another great standard costume.  Both Mrs. Stauffer and Mrs. Felegi will be wearing this.

Burda 7468
Great simple Medieval Costume.

Butterick 4574
A fun mens' outfit.
