Summer Office Hours
For an eight-week period from June 11 – August 3, all District schools and the Administration Center for Education will be open Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. In addition, District offices will be closed July 4 in honor of Independence Day. 

The Administration Center for Education will be open to the public from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Hours at the individual schools will vary. Due to limited office staff during this time, please contact the school to confirm someone will be available to assist you when planning your visit.  Click here for a phone directory.

Buterbaugh photo

Mr. Buterbaugh directs the Cedar Cliff HS Orchestra, CCHS String Chamber Ensembe (C3) and Allen MS 6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade Orchestras.  His students have reached every level of the PMEA circuit – Districts, Regions and States, in addition to All-Eastern and All-National ensembles. The 2018-2019 will be his 9th year teaching. In his time at West Shore, the department has been named a "Best Communities for Music Education", has traveled to NYC, Disney and Chicago among other cities, has hosted CCMEA County and PMEA District Orchestra and has hosted masterclasses with faculty from NYU, Messiah College, Susquehanna University, Lebanon Valley College and members of the Harrisburg Symphony. The orchestras pride themselves on performing quality repertoire at a high standard.

Mr. Buterbaugh is the Assistant Conductor of the York Youth Symphony and recently resigned as the music director of the Acts of Kindness Theatre Company in Hanover, PA. He was also the director of the Hanover Symphony Orchestra for four years. He has a private cello studio and is a frequent guest conductor in the area. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University and his Master’s in Orchestral Conducting from Messiah College, and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He especially enjoys working with student ensembles. He lives with his wife Julie and their sons Evan and Liam.
