Red Land Named One of the Nation's Best High Schools by the U.S. News and World Report

The U.S. News and World Report released its 2024 Best High Schools report and for the second year in a row Red Land High School made the list!  Red Land ranked #12 in York County metro high schools, #281 in the state and in the top 40% of high schools in the country. 2024-2025 School Calendar Approved

We received 522 responses to the calendar survey this year and on February 15, the Board of School Directors adopted a calendar for the 2024-2025 school year with Tuesday, September 3, as the first day of school for students.

Kindergarten Registration Now Open for 2024-2025

Kindergarten registration has begun in the West Shore School District for the 2024-2025 school year and we can't wait to meet the class of 2037!  To complete the kindergarten registration process, your child must be at least five years of age before October 1, 2024, possess an official birth certificate, and proper immunization records. West Shore uses PowerSchool Registration, an easy to use, secure online registration system which makes uploading this documentation from home easy and convenient.

Free Meals This Summer: June 17 - August 15

To ensure our children continue receiving meals throughout the summer months, we are once again offering a free summer meals program! From June 17 through August 15, all kids up to age 18 can receive free breakfast and lunch on Mondays through Thursdays regardless of their family’s economic status or school district of residence.

Summer Office Hours: June 10-August 9

Monday, June 10, through Friday, August 9, all District schools and the Administration Center will be open Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. In addition, District offices and meal location sites will be closed July 4 in honor of Independence Day. Due to summer trainings and staff vacation time, hours at the individual schools will vary each day. Please contact the building prior to your visit to confirm someone will be available to assist you.

Summer School Applications Now Being Accepted

We are offering online summer remediation and acceleration courses at NO COST to students or their families again this year. Credit Acceleration courses will run from June 3 - July 31 and Credit Recovery course from June 19 - July 31. Interested students must complete all requested information on the online application to register. Click here for more details about this year's offerings.

Sign Up Now for our Summer 2024 Music Programs

This summer, West Shore's music department will offer two options for continued music study for strings and instrumental band students. Both programs are available to instrumentalists playing violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.

Health and Safety Plan

During the 2023-2024 school year we will continuously monitor and assess health information pertaining to COVID-19; requirements received from PDE, DOH, or any other regulatory agency; and information from local health care providers to determine best practices moving forward and to guide our decision making.
