8/15/2016-9/2/2016

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff:

Over the last several years, we have seen the need for additional technology-related devices and resources to support instruction. To keep up with this growing demand, we are pleased to introduce you to the newest member of West Shore’s administrative team.

Christopher W. Champion
Coordinator of Instructional Technology

Mr. Champion earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bloomsburg University, Master’s Degree of Science in Educational Technology Integration from Walden University, an Instructional Technology Specialist Certification from Philadelphia University, and an Administrative Certificate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Champion spent the first part of his career working in the private sector providing information technology support and management. Most recently he spent fourteen years as a Computer Information Systems instructor at Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School. In addition to teaching at the high school level, Mr. Champion has taught graduate Educational Technology classes for Philadelphia University, Harrisburg University, and Seton Hill University. He also serves as webmaster for the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT), a nonprofit statewide organization supporting educational technology.

In 2016, he was awarded the Making IT Happen award by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for exemplary service to the state chapter, international organization, and to education as a whole.

In his free time, Mr. Champion likes to canoe and kayak, geocache, bicycle, and camp with his wife and ten-year-old daughter. He is committed to helping teachers throughout the District integrate the right technology in the right ways to create exciting lessons that will engage students.
