Last year, the District developed a Comprehensive Strategic Plan to shape the District’s educational programs through 2019 (see related file below).  This plan contains the District’s mission and vision statements and details the District’s shared values as we work to provide a quality education for our students in a fiscally responsible fashion.

The 2016-2019 Comprehensive Plan was developed through the work of a committee whose members represent school staff, parents, community members, and business representatives.  The Comprehensive Planning Committee had four subcommittees.

  • Professional Education - Dr. Jamie Whye, chair
  • Safe and Supportive Schools - Mr. Thomas Burnheimer, chair
  • Special Education - Dr. Timothy Dorsey, chair
  • Student Achievement - Dr. Tammi Jones, chair

The 2016-2019 Comprehensive Planning Committee meeting was held on February 2, 2015.  After a brief overview of the process, committee members broke into subcommittees to begin the process of completing a needs assessment which will be used to identify goals for success that will lead to the development action plans.  The remaining work was done by members of the subcommittees working throughout the year.

Based on the state’s Comprehensive Planning process, the proposed 2016-2019 Comprehensive Plan was shared with the Board and the community on October 8, 2015.   The proposed plan was presented for a vote and approved by the Board on November 19, 2015. For more information about the overall planning process, please contact, Dr. Ryan Argot, Director of Federal Programs.

* Due to changes in the Pennsylvania School Code, in November 2014, the Board of School Directors revised Board Policy 100, and this process is now referred to as Comprehensive Planning, instead of Comprehensive Strategic Planning.
