Kindergarten Registration 

Students registering for Kindergarten must turn 5 years old on or before October 1.  Students registering for first grade must turn 6 years old on or before October 1.


All new registrations, change of parent or guardian and change of address for the West Shore School District are conducted by appointment only at the Registration Office located at the District’s Administration Center for Education.

The Administration Center is located at 507 Fishing Creek Road in Lewisberry.  From I-83 Exit 36, take Fishing Creek Road west (.1 mile) to the Administration Center on the right.

The necessary registration enrollment packet is available as a related file below.  It may also be obtained by visiting any school office, the Registration Office, or by calling 717-938-9577, ext. 124. Once the enrollment packet is complete, please contact our office to schedule an appointment. Registration takes approximately one hour.  

Summer office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed Fridays from June 12-August 4. 

To expedite the registration process, make sure to have all forms completed and all necessary documentation obtained prior to coming to your appointment.


Please Note:

  • Parents or court appointed guardians living in the West Shore School District may enroll a student.  It is mandatory for the parent/guardian to come to the office to complete the enrollment process.  Court appointed guardians must provide the District with a copy of the court order giving them custody.
  • Parents or guardians who reside with a friend or relative in the West Shore School District must have the resident accompany them to the appointment with a copy of their proof of residency and valid ID to complete Multiple Occupancy paperwork.  Multiple Occupancy paperwork can be obtained at the Registration Office.
  • Residents living in the district acting as guardians for students that have not been granted custody through a court order will be required to complete Affidavit paperwork in accordance with guidelines set by PA Public School Code Section 24 P. S. 13-1302 and 22 Pa. Code, Chapter 11.  Affidavit paperwork can be obtained at the Registration Office.

  

What To Bring When You Register Your Child

In addition to the completed registration enrollment packet, you will need to have the following at your appointment in order to register your child.

Proof of child’s age:  Any of the following constitutes acceptable documentation: birth certificate, baptismal certificate; copy of record of baptism-notarized or certified and showing the date of birth; notarized statement from the parents or a relative indicating the date of birth; a valid passport; a prior school record indicating the date of birth.

Immunizations required by law:  Immunization record, a written statement from the former school district or from a medical office that the required immunizations have been administered, or verbal assurances from the former school district or medical office that the required immunizations have been completed, with records to follow.

Proof of Residency: (2 required) Acceptable documentation is a current Pennsylvania State issued driver’s license or a Pennsylvania State ID card issued by PennDOT with your current address AND a copy of the deed, lease, settlement agreement or property tax bill. A military housing letter is also acceptable for those on active duty with the armed forces.

Government Issued Photo Identification:  This is used to verify the person’s identity completing the registration.

IEP/Special Education documentation:  If your child has an IEP or any special education requirements, please bring that documentation with you.
