Message from the Superintendent - April 1st
4/1/2016-4/5/2016 As you may already be aware, this week natural gas leaks were detected at Cedar Cliff High School. I want to assure parents and students that we are committed to remediating any issues that result in unusual odors or other safety concerns within any of our buildings. I would also like to provide the entire District with an update on the conditions at Cedar Cliff. Since last year, students and staff have reported numerous odors at the school, and in particular, in the planetarium area. Unfortunately, due to the unpredictability of the timing, location, and duration of the odors, which often dissipate quickly, it has been difficult to pinpoint an exact cause. Partnering with outside contractors and engineers, we have repaired malfunctioning or faulty equipment as possible sources of these smells. In addition to those efforts, most recently an environmental, health, and safety service conducted an air quality test, and we are waiting for those results. We will continue to work with McClure Company to safely restore gas service to all areas of the building. The health and safety of our students and staff remains top priority. Working with our administrative team, we will continue to keep you informed of important issues like this one as they arise at any of our schools. Thank you and have a good evening. Sincerely, Dr. Todd Stoltz Superintendent of Schools
