The Pennsylvania Departments of Health and Education are launching an education and awareness campaign, "Don't Wait to Vaccinate" to encourage parents to schedule immunizations before the school year begins.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health indicates that only 86 percent of Pennsylvania's children entering kindergarten have the necessary vaccinations compared with roughly 95 percent in the rest of the country.

Please talk with your child's health care provider or your county's local health department about this issue.  Ask them to make sure your child is fully immunized before starting school.
