We couldn’t think of a more fitting last post of 2017 than this one…
This year Crossroads Middle School partnered with the York County Food Bank for their Give-A-Meal program. The Food Bank provided a turkey and the school community provided the fixings to make it a holiday meal. Crossroads families not only collected enough food for a holiday meal they also collected extra so families would have food to eat throughout the duration of winter break. In addition, eleven Crossroads students and three teachers volunteered to help package and distribute the Give-A-Meal turkeys to program participants.
As part of the Give-A-Meal program, school districts could choose to enter the Food Drive contest from Apple Subaru. Crossroads entered and WON 2nd place overall! Quite an accomplishment as the only school participating individually.
So many students and staff members in the West Shore School District are doing great things for our community. We look forward to sharing more of their stories in 2018. Happy New Year West Shore! #WestShoreProud
