What time is the bus coming? Who’s my teacher? As we countdown the days to the start of the 2018-2019 school year there are several questions your family may be asking. In order to make it easier to find the answers to these questions and others, we have gathered all the information you need below.
School Year Calendar
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 27. School will dismiss early on Friday, August 31 and not be in session Monday, September 3 in observance of Labor Day.
The complete school calendar for 2018-2019 can be
downloaded here. Information about upcoming orientations, open houses, back-to-school nights, and cycle days can be found on the
online calendar. This calendar can be customized to only show events for those schools of interest to your family.
Bus Schedules & Teacher AssignmentsMonday, August 13, an email will be sent to parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade with detailed bus information, including stop location and pick-up/drop-off times. This email will also contain each student's grade and teacher's name. Please check your spam/junk mail folders if you do not see this email in your inbox. Information will also be available for parents in
PowerSchool.
For middle and high school students, bus, class, and schedules will be available in PowerSchool the afternoon of Monday, August 13. If you aren't already, follow the District on
twitter,
facebook, and/or
instagram to be notified the minute the
PowerSchool portal is opened.
PLEASE NOTE: This summer First Student purchased several new buses and where possible revised bus routes to reduce ride times for students. As a result, several bus numbers have changed. To ensure middle and high school students are aware of these changes, the District will also email bus information to secondary families on Monday, August 13.
School Supply Lists - Updated July 29thAll necessary materials and supplies for learning in the elementary classroom will be supplied by the District. We understand parents often want to supplement those materials. If parents choose to they may provide optional items for their students (designer folders, pencil cases, etc.). Our secondary classrooms often have recommendations for supplies that assist with organization skills as well as recommended calculators for use at home that are similar to the calculators that are utilized in the classroom. If your family can use assistance from the District in obtaining additional items (backpacks, lunch boxes, sneakers, etc.) for your student, please contact your school guidance counselor.
Breakfast and Lunch MenusThe District will be partnering again this year with Sodexo. Breakfast and lunch menus for August & September will be posted on the
Menus page as soon as they are finalized.
Meal prices for this school year can also be found on the menu page. The cost of an elementary student lunch is $2.75 and secondary students can purchase a regular lunch for $2.85.
Families who wish to continue receiving free or reduced price meals must submit a new application each school year. Application materials and additional information about this program are available on the
Food Services page. Families with questions about their application or who need assistance should contact the contact the Food Services Department at 938-9577.
