Two Presumed Positive COVID-19 Cases at Fishing Creek Elementary – May 13, 2021

May 13, 2021

Good afternoon Fishing Creek families,

Two members of the Fishing Creek Elementary school community are presumed positive for COVID-19. The first individual was last in school on Wednesday, May 5, and the second was last in school on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Individuals identified as close contacts were notified by phone and may also be contacted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH).

For your reference, the District has established a COVID-19 Tracker to share data on active cases, quarantine numbers, and total cases impacting our District. Due to the fact that we do not have in-person activities (athletic practices, extra-curricular activities, etc.) on Saturday or Sunday, we will be able to reset our building's active cases this weekend. The tracker is updated daily at noon and may be viewed at: https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/COVID19Tracker.aspx

What happens now:
  • Classrooms and affected areas will undergo any additional required sanitation and cleaning in accordance with CDC, PDE, and PA DOH guidance.
  • Unless in quarantine or isolation, students and staff should continue to report to school on their assigned days.
  • The individual who is positive and close contacts will work remotely. The District website provides additional information and guidance for families with a child in quarantine: https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/QuarantineFAQ.aspx

What you can do:

Please don’t hesitate to email me directly or call the school if you would like to discuss any concerns you have regarding this information.

Sincerely,

Lisa Crum, Principal
