Board members serve the community in a volunteer capacity.  In addition to attending and participating at the two monthly meetings, members serve on Board committees, attend school functions, and are expected to advocate for all District students.
Eligible residents who wish to be considered should submit a letter of interest, which includes, in 500 words or less:

  • name and address
  • why they want to be a school board director in the West Shore School District
  • what they would bring to the Board
A resume may also be submitted; however, no other attachments will be considered.

Deadline for submission is noon on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

The Board looks forward to interviewing applicants during a special meeting scheduled for Monday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m., with the hope of voting that night on a recommended candidate.  Once Board approved, the successful candidate will be required to file a statement of financial interests and take an oath of office before entering upon his/her duties on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
