Every year, families must renew Medicaid benefits. Typically, families receive a renewal packet in the mail with forms to fill out approximately 30 days before it’s due. Other ways of renewing benefits include online through the COMPASS website or over the phone by calling 1-866-550-4355. 

We realize many of our students and their families utilize Medicaid benefits. To assist West Shore families with the renewal process, we are hosting a free parent workshop. The workshop, offered by Highmark Wholecare, will be held on Monday, November 20 from 3-6 p.m. at the Administration Center, 507 Fishing Creek Road, Lewisberry, PA 17339. Highmark staff will be available throughout the evening to assist parents in applying for and renewing Medical Assistance for their children, regardless of what insurance provider they use.

For reference, Medicaid benefits can be renewed up to 60 days prior to when they are set to expire. If your benefits will expire on or before January 18, 2024, you will be able to renew them during the workshop.
