The District will implement and enforce the following requirements/procedures relative to parents/spectators attending a student-athlete’s contest during the 2020-2021 school year.

  • All event attendees, including athletes, coaching staff, and officials, must wear face coverings, in accordance with the Secretary of Health’s Universal Face Covering Order, and are expected to maintain social distancing when arriving, attending, and departing the facility.
  • Except as provided in Section 3 of the Universal Face Covering Order, every individual, age two and older, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall wear a face covering when indoors or in an enclosed space, where another person or persons who are not members of the individual’s household are present in the same space, irrespective of physical distance.
  • The District will be following the Governor’s Strengthened Gathering Limitations as announced on November 24, 2020, until further notice. All groups, including youth recreation and other outside groups using school district facilities, must follow all current restrictions and adhere to capacity counts for District facilities. In accordance with these limitations, capacities for all after-hours facility use can be located on the District webpage (click here).
  • Attendance at any event is subject to appropriate behavior, adherence to our health and safety plans, and compliance with the Universal Face-Covering Order and social distancing. Please adhere to these guidelines in order to protect the health and safety of all participants and ensure our sporting season continues. Anyone who fails to adhere to our guidelines will be asked to leave. We greatly appreciate your cooperation.
  • The District will be livestreaming all regular season contests. Livestreaming will be through the NFHS Network (www.nfhsnetwork.com). There is normally a subscription fee to view the events, but the District has obtained a license to allow all regular season contests to be shown for free. Any playoff events held in West Shore will be subject to a subscription fee. To view the livestream, you will need to create an account by going to www.nfhsnetwork.com, browse for either Cedar Cliff or Red Land, and click on the “follow” tab. You will have access to all live events and the video on demand (VOD) afterward.
  • Concession stands will NOT be open or available at any District school-sponsored event.
  • There will be NO charge for spectator vouchers to enter events.
  • We respectfully request that all spectators continue with self-screenings such as the PA DOH School Symptom Screening Tool prior to arrival on our campus or other campuses throughout our league. We want our student athletes and band members to be able to continue to play and perform. Your cooperation with all aspects of our Health and Safety plan is greatly appreciated.

PLEASE NOTE:
Other school districts may have rules that differ from the West Shore S.D. Be sure you understand the rules in effect at another school district, if you choose to be a spectator at an away event, as permitted.

We are aware that there is pending legislation regarding spectators at high school athletics that may alter these procedures/protocols. However, we will be maintaining the protocols listed above until further notice. Any additional changes will require additional and thoughtful, planning and coordination.
