Meet Mrs. Rowland

Meet Mrs. Rowland

Hi! My name is Mrs. Rowland and here is my story.

I was born in Rhode Island while my father was stationed at the Navy base there, but for most of my life I have lived in Pennsylvania.

I met my husband while doing musicical theater in New Jersey and we got married and moved to Florida. We worked at Walt Disney World for a few years while he went to college and are still Disney fanatics. We go down to visit Mickey as often as we can.

When we moved back to PA, where he is from also, I went to Lebanon Valley College. Here I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as my master's degree in Science Education.

We have now been married for 26 years and have two beautiful girls. Alyssa is 20 and is attending LVC to become a physical therapist and Erica is 15 and going into 10th grade. We also have 2 cats, 2 birds, 4 fish, 5 guinea pigs, and a snake.

Mr. Rowland and I still perform in many musical theater productions around our area only now our girls participate in some with us. In my free time, I am a dance instructor for Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio and choreographer for several local theaters. My other hobbies include reading and painting.

This will be my 20th year teaching at Highland Elementary. All of them have been in 2nd grade except my first where I taught a multi-age 1-2 class at the "Old" Highland.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I can't wait to learn about you!
