Message to our Community from the Lower Allen Twp. Police Department & Dr. Stoltz
Good afternoon West Shore Students, Staff, Parents, and Community,
February 24, 2018 - As you will see in the attached press release from Lower Allen Township Police, it was brought to our attention yesterday afternoon that a serious threat was made by a Cedar Cliff High School student after school hours during the bus ride home. The District takes any threat to our security and the safety of our students, staff, and visitors very seriously, and in response, we immediately contacted law enforcement to investigate the threat.
As I mentioned in my message last week, we must operate with heightened awareness of our surroundings, and in the event that something seems out of place or concerning, we encourage members of our school community to practice See Something, Say Something. Clearly, that happened yesterday! We applaud the individuals, both students and staff, who were responsible for reporting this threat to the proper authorities. We would also like to thank Lower Allen Township Police and all other law enforcement agencies who were involved in the investigation of this matter for their swift responses to ensure everyone’s safety.
It is my hope that parents will take this opportunity to discuss what occurred with their children and emphasize the severe consequences of such actions. In addition, please remind your children about the importance of reporting any suspicious or potentially threatening activity to an adult as soon as possible. Together, we can keep our schools safe.
Please note: All weekend activities at Cedar Cliff and other schools in the District will be held as scheduled.
