The West Shore Natatorium is located adjacent to Red Land High School, 560 Fishing Creek Road. Lewisberry, PA. The facility was built in 1987. It has 6 lanes for 25 yards and this can be changed to a 6 lane 25 meter course. A spectator area is above the pool deck. The natatorium is located off of Exit 36 on I83. I83 south from Camp Hill or Harrisburg you turn right onto Fishing Creek Road. When coming from York, I83 North, you turn left off the Exit 36. Red Land High School is located 1/2 mile on the left. Follow the driveway and bear left to front of the school. The natatorium is the last building on the right at the south end of the complex.
The West Shore School District requires aquatics in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades, and also offers two High School electives. In second and fourth grade, swimming instruction focuses on water orientation, improved stroke technique, and safety. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Boating Safety Awareness Course is the requirement in sixth grade. In High School students have the option of taking two swim electives. First, we have the Swim and Skill class which is an introduction to a number of water-related activities and skills such as: swim technique, swim meets, basic lifeguarding skills, splash ball, basic water rescue, snorkeling, spring board diving, water polo, canoeing, and fitness. The second elective offered is the Swim Endurance class which offers a fitness based swim class and introduction to life long aquatic based activities such as: distance swimming, sprinting, aquatic races, shallow and deep water aerobics, swim and gym, and water running. Juniors and Seniors receive Physical Education credit for these two swim elective classes.
The West Shore Natatorium is the home facility to both Cedar Cliff and Red Land High School swimming and diving teams. Swimmers and divers from both teams have competed successfully at the Mid-Penn, District III, and PIAA championships levels. For more information please see link below.
