Greetings Red Mill Families.
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing break. Our students returned sporting new sneakers, new sweatshirts, new boots, all sort of new clothing, and really BIG smiles. I am glad everyone is back! Now it is time to work on our New Year's Resolutions...what's your resolution? We are ready to start a new year with a positive mindset. At our school-wide assembly last month, we talked about grit and what it means. The staff at Red Mill will want each and every child to show courage and perseverance as they start the new year and complete the second marking period. Remind your child that having difficulty with a concept isn’t a bad thing – It gives them something to work towards. Encourage them to keep trying and even though they don’t have it YET, they will!
Red Mill will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. The kids will be raising money for the American Heart Association and will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart activities on January 11th.
The second marking period comes to an end on January 12th. The teachers will work on report cards and they will be distributed on January 26.
January's weather can be brutal. Please be sure your child is dressed for the elements.
