I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break and are
excited for what 2018 brings. Now that
the winter season is upon us, please continue to check the district’s webpage
along with local news and radio stations for possible delays and/or
cancelations. The district’s webpage
also has an up to date school calendar highlighting early dismissals, no school
days, and planned special events.
I wanted to remind everyone that our monthly PTO meetings
are held on the first Monday of each month starting at 6:00 p.m. in Newberry’s
Library. Please stop by to see how you
can help support the students at Newberry.
Morning drop-off procedures at 8:30 a.m. - All doors
will be locked and no supervision will be provided prior to 8:30 a.m. Parent
drop off occurs in the back of the school just before the back entrance to the
cafeteria at door number 8. Students should be able to exit the vehicle
independently to keep the line of traffic flowing. Vehicles must remain
in a single file line to ensure student safety.
Students riding a bus will be dropped at the front of the building and enter
through door number 13.
Afternoon pick-up procedures at 3:30 p.m. – As in
the past, we ask you to write a note if you wish to pick up your child at
the end of the school day. If you plan to pick up your child on designated days
or for the entire year, indicate such on the blue Daily Dismissal Form, and
your child will be placed on a permanent pick-up list. All pick-up
students will be released from the front lobby, door number 13.
Breakfast & Lunch - The cost of breakfast is $1.60, lunch $2.65, and
milk $.60. Checks can be made payable to the WSSD Cafeteria. Menus
are located on the District website under the Food Services tab.
Start Time – Students must be in their classrooms by 8:45 a.m. Students
should NOT be dropped off prior to 8:30 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten begins at
12:45 p.m. Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m. If you plan to pick up your child,
please send a note to the classroom teacher.
