My name is Sandy Seaux and I have worked at New Cumberland Middle School since November 2015. Before that I was the middle school counselor at Newport School District for nine years. I graduated from Shippensburg University with my Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling in 2006. Prior to becoming a school counselor I used my bachelor’s degree in Psychology to work as one-on-one therapeutic aide with students with developmental and psychological disabilities. I also worked for a short time as a program specialist in therapeutic foster care. I bring a wealth of knowledge from the human service field to my profession as a school counselor. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and hold memberships with both the Pennsylvania School Counselor’s Association (PSCA) and the American School Counselor’s Association (ASCA).
I live in just outside of Carlisle in the Big Spring School District, where I grew up, with my husband, Joe, two daughters, Ela and Finleigh and our dog, Ruby. I enjoy playing with my girls, especially when it’s nice outside, doing crafts, running and ready when I have time. I also enjoy following the weather and if I had to choose another career, I would love to be a meteorologist! My favorite thing about being a school counselor is getting to work with such a diverse and interesting population as middle school students and the fact that no two days are ever the same!
