We are so very excited that the time has come to officially welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! Throughout the summer, we have been working very hard to make sure that everything is ready for your child on the first day of school. For those of you new to Highland, my name is Mrs. Meghan Sheraw and I am the Principal at Highland Elementary. Mr. Adam Marshall, our Assistant Principal, will be joining us this year and is just as excited as I am for the school year to begin and to start working with all of you. August and September Important Dates:
Room Assignments and Busing Information (8/14/23) This information will be available in PowerSchool
starting in the afternoon of 8/15/22 and will be sent to families via email on 8/16/22.
New Family Orientation (8/22/23 @ 5:00 PM) Families with students in grades 1-5 that are new to Highland should plan on attending this event to learn about the school, ask questions, and tour the building.
Kindergarten Back-to-School Night (8/23/22 @ 6:00 PM) Parents with kindergarten students should plan on attending this event to meet their child’s teacher and hear about all of the exciting things we will be doing this year. We encourage parents to not bring children to this event.
First Day of School (8/28/23)
Back-to-School Night Grades 1-5 (8/30/23 @ 6:00 PM) Parents with students in grades 1-5 should plan on attending this event to meet their child’s teacher and hear about all of the exciting things we will be doing this year. We encourage parents to not bring children to this event. For families with multiple children, we will run two sessions so that you can attend more than one presentation. A Title I parent meeting will be held at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria.
Labor Day- No School (9/1/23 & 9/4/23)
PTO Meeting (9/11/23 @ 6:30 PM) Parents looking for opportunities to get involved and volunteer at school are encouraged to join
this meeting in the library at Highland. All are welcome!
Remote Learning Day (9/15/23) Students will not be in-person on this date. Teachers will assign asynchronous work for students to complete on Seesaw.
Back-to-School Picnic (9/8/23 @5:00-7:00 PM) All families are invited to join us in the front yard at Highland for food, music, games, and family fun. Please bring chairs or blankets to eat picnic-style.
Picture Day (9/18/23) Students, wear your best and brightest and get ready to SMILE! Fall pictures for all students will be taken on this date.
