Special Education Department Community Supports Expo - April 24

The District's Special Education Department would like to invite you to join us for the 2024 Community Supports Expo on Wednesday, April 24, from 6:30-8 p.m. Unlike previous parent information sessions, the Expo will be held at Central Penn College and is open to parents with students attending West Shore, Cumberland Valley, East Pennsboro, and Camp Hill School Districts. Please feel free to invite friends and family members from those school districts who may benefit from joining us.

2024-2025 School Calendar Approved

We received 522 responses to the calendar survey this year and on February 15, the Board of School Directors adopted a calendar for the 2024-2025 school year with Tuesday, September 3, as the first day of school for students.

Kindergarten Registration Now Open for 2024-2025

Kindergarten registration has begun in the West Shore School District for the 2024-2025 school year and we can't wait to meet the class of 2037!  To complete the kindergarten registration process, your child must be at least five years of age before October 1, 2024, possess an official birth certificate, and proper immunization records. West Shore uses PowerSchool Registration, an easy to use, secure online registration system which makes uploading this documentation from home easy and convenient.

Planning Ahead for Winter Weather: District Plans for Remote Learning, Delays, and Early Dismissals

With winter weather beginning to appear in the forecast, it is important families have a plan in place for the possibility of a switch to remote learning, a delay in the start time for classes, or the need to dismiss students early. Health and Safety Plan

During the 2023-2024 school year we will continuously monitor and assess health information pertaining to COVID-19; requirements received from PDE, DOH, or any other regulatory agency; and information from local health care providers to determine best practices moving forward and to guide our decision making.
